University of South Carolina (English)

Trainer and educator

As a trainer from the Anne Frank House, I was invited to facilitate trainings at the University of South Carolina, Columbia for the fall semester 2015 and 2016 and Spring semester 2016. I lead a variety of trainings about the contemporary opportunities of diversity and challenges posed by discrimination, as well as specific cases of Anne Frank and the Holocaust, where those issues were so vivid. These educational exercises and practices are there to help students to understand cultural diversity and to work effectively with diverse people and perspectives.

Over the last two years, I've implemented these practices with hundreds of student leaders at the University of South Carolina, including Resident Mentors in the dorms and instructors who teach the university’s U101 course, which prepares first year students for success in life and academics in college. These activities are designed so that students experience deep learning by participating in them, but also leave prepared to implement the same exercises themselves.
